Tyrannical regimes.

Wearying recession.

Corrupt leaders.

Deadly medications.

And a helpless baby, pushing his fully formed arms and legs against the wall of my womb, preparing for the journey here.

Here? You really want to come here, I asked Jude this morning as I scanned headlines and he hiccuped inside.

And then I heard it. An old song.

He’s got the whole world in His hands…

I sang the familiar song to my baby. I sang it over and over, until I started to believe it. But I think it may have been the other way around.

I think Jude was singing it to me.
