Hope. It’s the place you move into when you get evicted from all those warm, comfy circumstances. And as you unpack your beat-up guitar, your Bible, a copy of To Kill a Mockingbird, the rosary you made for your son and those pearl earrings from the love of your life (the only possessions you really cared to bring along for the journey) you realize these four walls may suit you better.

Sure the other place had crisp paint on the walls, but underneath it was water-damaged drywall and a cracked foundation. You just couldn’t see it yet.

And the new place – hope – is a little dusty, but this haven of expectancy and brokenness has potential. It’s made you count what you love best. And do things you never thought possible. The way you see it, you’ve got nothing but time to clean up the dust bunnies in your new home. And Grace just hollered from the back room that she’s here to help.

I love it. I can totally see the imagery. Hope definitely sounds like a better place to live for the long haul, especially if Grace is staying, as well. Enjoy your new home.

Hey girl. Sorry to be MIA in recent weeks. I know you’ve travelled some difficult terrain, and I would’ve loved to ease your journey some, if I had any wisdom to offer. Which I doubt. I’m on my own “Journey of Baby Mei Mei” right now. My sweet foster angel #5 came home almost 4 weeks ago; she has several special issues that I’m trying desperately to learn to manage & help her through. I’m sort of in a sleep walking stupor these days. I just wanted to encourage you that you WILL get through this season quicker than you think; you are already becoming a better version of Jude’s mommy than you ever dreamed of being.
